Steve Jobs May Appear at iPad 2 Media Event Tomorrow, Despite Medical Leave

Reports are popping up that Steve Jobs is thinking about making an appearance tomorrow at the iPad 2 announcement event in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Acting CEO Tim Cook will be leading the ceremony as Jobs has been on medical leave since mid January for health reasons. It’s rumored that he may be having issues once again with pancreatic cancer. His last leave of absence was in January 2009 when he received a liver transplant and was treated for cancer. in 2004, Jobs underwent surgery to his pancreas.

All Things Digital says Jobs is “mulling” over making an appearance. Should he show up, it’s unlikely he will lead the announcement, but be there in a supportive role.

According to several sources close to the situation, Apple CEO Steve Jobs – who is on a health-related leave from the company – is definitely considering an appearance at its big iPad 2 event tomorrow.

But the possibility – which would be a big sensation at the San Francisco gathering – is also just as definitely not confirmed as yet, stressed sources.

If he did appear, sources said Jobs would at least make a brief appearance onstage, along with other top company execs in showing off Apple’s latest version of it hugely popular tablet.

setteB.IT is also suggesting Steve Jobs, who turned 56 last week, will make an appearance.

Apple Stops First Generation iPad Production9to5mac.com has heard from some iPad retailers that Apple is no longer shipping any first generation iPads. This should be of no surprise as Apple is set to launch the iPad 2 very soon after the official announcement of the new iPad tomorrow.

Retailers across the globe can now only sell the iPads they have in stock and will probably have sold out the device by tomorrow.

Apple Confirms Announcement on March 2, Most Likely to Introduce iPad 2

Apple has sent out invitations to the media for what is everybody’s best guess – the official announcement of the iPad 2. The ceremony will take place in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10:00 am. Other Apple products have been introduced at the same location in the past.

The official notice of iPad 2’s impending announcement was a welcomed sign considering just yesterday there was a rumor of a production delay in the manufacturing of the new iPad that would have pushed the launch date to June. Luckily, that rumor was quickly dismissed by several reputable news agencies.

Apple is expected to launch the iPad 2 sometime in April or early May at the latest, providing there are no production problems.

Stay tuned to iPadNewsUpdates.com as we’ll be providing live updates of the iPad 2 introduction once the announcement begins on March 2.
