FaceTime is freezing up on iPad 2 for some people when they use the video chat feature. AppleInsider reports there are some users posting on their message board who are talking about the problem. For those who are experiencing technical difficulties, the front-facing camera crashes when the FaceTime application is being used.
Some remedy the problem by restarting their iPads, while others choose to perform a complete restore of the operating system. That seems to fix the problem, but the issue can return after using the application a few more times.
One user talked to a Verizon store manager in New York City who said they too had the same problem with FaceTime freezing up in their iPad 2 demo models potential customers are allowed to handle and use in the store.

My face time works great- no freeze problems at all. I’ve also gotten over that bleeding light problem, not as bad as people have made it out to be. And speaking of that i took it back to the Apple store and they said all the ipads had the back light problem and they didnt have any replacements at this time anyway.
