Super Bowl iPad App: Vualla Social TV Companion Gets an Update

I admit that I’m not the biggest football fan, but I do watch the Super Bowl every year — mostly for the commercials. If only there was an app that compiled all the best Super Bowl ads of the last few years for you to watch on your iPad. Of course, there’s an app for that! Vualla, a company who makes a social TV iPad app, has created a new app geared specifically towards Super Bowl XLV — and the commercials are just a fraction of what this app has to offer. Oh, and did we mention it’s free?

The new version of Vualla Social TV Companion takes you through every part of the big game. Watch video highlights, as well as news and analysis from NFL experts. It even gives you a list of alternative halftime programming if you don’t feel like watching the Black Eyed Peas (can we say Puppy Bowl anyone?). You can also watch past halftime shows.

More after the jump!

Besides being able to look up information about the game, there’s also a social side to it. You can chat and talk smack with your friends or other fans and/or enemies, or make comments to Twitter and Facebook. The app follows live Twitter streams about the Super Bowl and the teams, and also from the players who are watching the game.

The app has a slew of information that’s available pre-Super Bowl, such as Super Bowl history, facts about the venue, and facts about the game itself. You can also view info about the Steelers and the Packers. The Video section features highlights from both teams, as well as the past seasons, and last year’s Super Bowl.

Finally, to the commercials: The Commercials sections feature YouTube videos of some of the best Super Bowl ads — some going all the way back to Apple’s famous commercial from 1984. They even have a section for commercials that were too hot to be aired during the Super Bowl. Ooh la la!

Vualla, who’s name stems from the word "voila," plans to make similar apps for other events, like award shows, and sporting events.
