Chinese website DGtle appears to have posted realistic iPad 2 pictures which show a couple of the rumored new features like a slimmer design, and front and rear facing cameras. The new design shows a tapered edge and the same 9.7 inch screen display.
Geek.com goes on to say:
The feature list does include a larger speaker, and front and rear cameras. The SIM card slot is where the SD card slot was speculated to be, there’s a new power button design, headphone jack, and there’s the antenna behind a white section at the top of the device which is probably going to be black on the final model being revealed later today.
The new iPad 2 is shown below the first generation iPad.
Check out more pictures after the break.

This may be the last big rumor we hear about the iPad 2 before its official announcement later today at 10am Pacific, 1pm Eastern. It appears the specs for iPad 2 have been accidentally posted on Amazon.com in Germany. YourAppleDaily.net was first to spot this interesting bit of news and took the screen snapshot above.
The two most exciting details listed on the German Amazon detail page was a launch date of March 17 and inclusion of the new Thunderbolt technology, a feature similar to USB but faster.
Among the other specs listed, which aren’t a big surprise, is the new processor(presumably the new A5 dual-core) with a speed of 1.2GHz (compared to 1.0GHz for the first iPad’s CPU), camera, 3G/wireless/bluetooth connectivity, and a 9.7 inch screen like the first generation iPad.
It’s a good thing we only have hours to hear if this “accidental” posting was a true glitch with correct information or just a hoax. Stay tuned to iPadNewsUpdates later today just before 10 Pacific, 1pm Eastern time as we cover the unveiling of the new iPad 2 live.

Reports are popping up that Steve Jobs is thinking about making an appearance tomorrow at the iPad 2 announcement event in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Acting CEO Tim Cook will be leading the ceremony as Jobs has been on medical leave since mid January for health reasons. It’s rumored that he may be having issues once again with pancreatic cancer. His last leave of absence was in January 2009 when he received a liver transplant and was treated for cancer. in 2004, Jobs underwent surgery to his pancreas.
All Things Digital says Jobs is “mulling” over making an appearance. Should he show up, it’s unlikely he will lead the announcement, but be there in a supportive role.
According to several sources close to the situation, Apple CEO Steve Jobs – who is on a health-related leave from the company – is definitely considering an appearance at its big iPad 2 event tomorrow.
But the possibility – which would be a big sensation at the San Francisco gathering – is also just as definitely not confirmed as yet, stressed sources.
If he did appear, sources said Jobs would at least make a brief appearance onstage, along with other top company execs in showing off Apple’s latest version of it hugely popular tablet.
setteB.IT is also suggesting Steve Jobs, who turned 56 last week, will make an appearance.

iPad 2 is widely expected to have some cool updates from the first generation iPad, but not all the bells and whistles that most may have hoped for. It looks like one only need to wait for this fall to get an even tastier iPad chock full of more features.
Cultofmac.com has heard from an Apple staffer who is echoing rumors of an even beefier iPad coming later this year, the iPad 3. The unnamed staffer said of the iPad 2:
the new MobileMe service will store music, TV shows, and films that were purchased from the iTunes store. The staffer also said that there was talk inside Apple of being able to upload all your music and videos to the cloud whether it was purchased from iTunes or not. However, they couldn’t confirm whether this will be rolled out or not. Before Apple bought it, the LaLa music service allowed users to upload music to an online locker for streaming to any device. There has been a lot of speculation that Apple would roll LaLa’s service into iTunes to create a streaming music service.
Also mentioned by the staffer is the fact that Apple has had “a number of problems along the way” with the iPad 2. This may be the reason for a more robust Apple tablet being launched only 6 or so months after iPad 2. Apple needs to compete with a lot of other tablets in 2011.
