Ben Reitzes, a Barclays’ analyst, said this past Friday that the iPad is “running far ahead of its tablet competition and its their game to lose,” in regards to business. His report, based partly on a conference call with a Forrester Research analyst, suggests Apple is ripe to become a leader with tablet inclusion in the corporate world.
Mr. Reitzes is predicting 47 million tablets to be sold in 2001 and believes Apple will command a 70% market share with the continuing success of the iPad. His price target for Apple stock is $450 per share.
Apple shared an interesting statistic for the first quarter of fiscal 2011 during its recent earning call. More than 80% of the Fortune 100 are already engaging the iPad within their companies.
With the coming announcement and release of the new iPad 2, Apple is sure to continue its tablet push into business as well as the public sector.
