It’s been confirmed that iPad 2 will be on sale at Best Buy March 11, in addition to being sold online at Apple.com and at Apple retail outlets. Walmart will be selling iPad 2 as well but has not released an on sale date just yet.
Best Buy is currently advertising its sale of iPad 2 on March 11 on their website, likely to start selling the same time as in Apple retail stores, 5pm.
Walmart has already listed white and black iPad 2’s, both AT&T and Verizon versions, on its website, though their status currently states they are out of stock. There is a “coming soon” message shown and this could very well change to March 11 eventually.
Best Buy joined in the first-generation iPad sales on launch day back in April 2010, while Walmart began their iPad sales about 6 months later. Other retail outlets like Target, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls eventually sold the iPad in their stores as well. It remains to be seen at this time if Apple will expand its iPad 2 sales to other stores besides Best Buy on March 11.
