This may be the last big rumor we hear about the iPad 2 before its official announcement later today at 10am Pacific, 1pm Eastern. It appears the specs for iPad 2 have been accidentally posted on Amazon.com in Germany. YourAppleDaily.net was first to spot this interesting bit of news and took the screen snapshot above.
The two most exciting details listed on the German Amazon detail page was a launch date of March 17 and inclusion of the new Thunderbolt technology, a feature similar to USB but faster.
Among the other specs listed, which aren’t a big surprise, is the new processor(presumably the new A5 dual-core) with a speed of 1.2GHz (compared to 1.0GHz for the first iPad’s CPU), camera, 3G/wireless/bluetooth connectivity, and a 9.7 inch screen like the first generation iPad.
It’s a good thing we only have hours to hear if this “accidental” posting was a true glitch with correct information or just a hoax. Stay tuned to iPadNewsUpdates later today just before 10 Pacific, 1pm Eastern time as we cover the unveiling of the new iPad 2 live.
